On January 23, 2025, the Sistema de Transporte Colectivo (STC) Metro of Mexico City experienced various problems that affected user mobility. Although some lines like 2, 4, 6, and 12 reported being "clear" with moderate traffic and wait times of 5 minutes, passengers have expressed on social media that they have actually been waiting more than 15 minutes for the arrival of the trains.
The most critical situation occurred on line 3, which will undergo modernization throughout this year, where users reported waits of up to 15 minutes to board a train. At the same time, delays were observed for the second consecutive day on the mentioned line 3, in contrast with lines 12, 2, and A which had a high influx of passengers.
Users expressed their dissatisfaction, stating that both line A and 12 were experiencing problems, with prolonged train stops and overcrowding at various stations. In response to this situation, the STC Metro communicated through its official channels that they were expediting the circulation and departure of trains on line A, asking users to allow free closing of doors and the disembarkation of passengers before boarding.
Additionally, the report indicated a high influx on lines such as 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, A, and B with wait times of 6 minutes, which caused annoyance among passengers whose daily routine was affected. The general request from users was to expedite the circulation of the trains to avoid further inconveniences in their transfers.
